Make the most out of your candles:

  • Trim wick to about 0.5-0.8cm prior to burning

  • Do let the candle burn completely to the edge (1-2 hours) to prevent tunneling

  • Only burn candles in a well-ventilated area on an even and heat-resistant surface

  • Do not burn candles around flammable items (including flowers, books, furniture)

  • Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time

  • Do not leave a burning candle unattended or while sleeping

  • Do not burn the candle all the way down - stop burning when there is about 1cm of wax left

  • (For jewellery candles) Upon seeing aluminium foil containing jewellery, take it out using tweezers/chopsticks

Extra tips:

If candle tunnels,

  • Method 1: Wrap aluminium foil around the edge of the candle vessel to allow the candle to burn evenly

    • Ensure that you do this the moment you think your candle starts to tunnel, as if the tunneling gets too severe it will be harder to even the wax pool out

    • View example here

  • Method 2: Use a heat tool (hairdryer, heat gun) to heat the surface of the candle wax, allowing it to melt and even out the surface

  • Method 3: Put the candle vessel into a pot of boiling water (around 1/5 the height of the candle vessel) and allow all the soy wax to melt and even out the tunneling

If wick becomes too short,

  • Method 1: Using Method 2 and 3 from the tunneling tips above, melt sufficient soy wax and thereafter, pour out some wax into a disposable bowl/container

    • This will allow more unburned wick to surface, allowing you to burn the candle with more ease

  • Method 2: Using a spoon/sharp object, scrape out hardened soy wax around the wick to allow more unburned wick to surface

    • This will allow more parts of the wick to catch fire, allowing it to stay lit

Cleaning the candle vessel

  • Method 1: During the last burn where all the wax is melted, pour out the remaining soy wax and remove the wick

    • Clean out the candle vessel with warm soapy water

  • Method 2: Put the candle vessel into a pot of boiling water (around 1/5 the height of the candle vessel) and allow all the soy wax to melt, thereafter, pour out all the remaining soy wax and remove the wick

    • Clean out the candle vessel with warm soapy water

  • Cleaning out the vessel might take multiple washes - so be patient!
